Adam Curtis’ superlative 4 part documentary series on the application of Freud’s theories to business and politics. If that doesn’t sound interesting, give it 5 minutes and you’ll be hooked.

What makes this documentary different from most, and not sensationalist, as the title might imply, is the quality of the research. For example, to provide a link between Freud and the use of public relations in the US, Curtis shows that Public Relations was actually invented by Freud’s nephew in New York. You can’t get a more definitive fact to backup your premise than that.

Trivia: Includes footage of the Viennese ‘psychotherapy ball’. Yup, that actually exists.
